Doug Earls is an Air Quality Scientist for Avogadro Environmental Corporation. Mr. Earls has formal training in electronics. He came to Avogadro with an extensive background in installation, maintenance, repair, and auditing of CEM systems, opacity monitoring systems and scientific analyzers.
As part of the CEMS Technical Division of Avogadro, Mr. Earls is the senior technical person routinely providing client support for the repair, maintenance and troubleshooting of CEM systems. He routinely conducts RATA and CGA audits on a variety of extractive and dilution CEMS systems. Other responsibilities include providing emergency service on CEM system components and data acquisition systems.
As a field team leader in the Testing Division, Mr. Earls utilizes USEPA test methods enumerated in 40 CFR 60 and 40 CFR 75 as part of client diagnostic and compliance emissions test programs. In this role, he takes the lead in field sampling events for a large variety of clients, especially those facilities with oxidizers, boilers, and combustion turbines. He is responsible for keeping projects on time and cost-effective. Mr. Earls also ensures that quality samples and data are acquired from a job site in an unbiased and accurate manner. He is called upon to reduce field test data and to prepare protocols and test reports for stack sampling programs. Mr. Earls is also routinely involved in providing routine maintenance to Avogadro’s mobile CEM laboratories.
His formal training includes a Certificate of Mechanical Technology from the County College of Morris (NJ). He has current registration in the OSHA 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER).
Mr. Earls is a member of the Instrument Society of America (ISA) for over 10 years. He pursues continuing education courses offered by ISA.
