Diagnostic & Compliance Testing
Avogadro Environmental staff have been providing air quality services since 1979, throughout most of the United States, including the most stringently regulated states, California and New Jersey.
Both compliance and non-compliance test programs are routinely conducted on all types of industrial processes. These include a wide range of industries such as breweries and bakeries to primary copper smelters, municipal incinerators and utilities.
Avogadro can perform both instrumental and wet chemistry sampling and analyses using state and EPA approved test methods. The use of instrumental test methods provides real-time data, allowing you to know, onsite, that your process is either in compliance or in violation of regulatory or permit limits.
Typical pollutant types sampled and analyzed include:
Total particulate - condensable and non-condensable
Particulate 2.5/10u - condensable and non-condensable
Hydrocarbons - total, total non-methane, semi-volatiles, volatiles, POHCs, PAHs, PCBs
Trace metals - Al, As, Ba, Be, Cd, Cr, Cr+6,Mg, Ni, Pb, Ag, Hg
Criteria Pollutants - SO2,NOx,CO,PM,Pb,O3
Acids and acid gases - HCl, HF, H2S, NH3, H2SO4, HNO3, H3PO4
Hazardous air pollutants - 1990 Title III, 188 compounds
Sulfur compounds - mercaptans, sulfides
As a result of our commitment to air testing, extensive sampling equipment and instrumentation have been acquired. Avogadro owns and operates four mobile laboratories, each equipped with real time instrumentation. This equipment undergoes continual preventative maintenance and upgrading to meet the routine daily demands. Annual purchases of state-of-the-art equipment and instrumentation allow Avogadro to maintain its expertise.
Avogadro has the sampling equipment and instrumentation to conduct all EPA and state (NJ, PA, NY, VA, DE, MD) test methods. Continuous monitoring of the typical criteria pollutants include monitors for total hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and sulfur dioxide. For most projects, this equipment is housed in a mobile laboratory for the most efficient approach to conduct emission testing.
Avogadro has proven capability for design and fabrication of equipment for unusual sampling problems, such as high-pressure or high-temperature conditions, odor measurements and other situations requiring special design.
Project managers have from fifteen to more than twenty-six years of stack test experience. They are all accustomed to working with federal, state and other regulatory agencies to ensure acceptable stack test results. Tests are usually conducted under the responsible charge of a Licensed Professional Engineer or Certified Industrial Hygienist. The technical personnel section provides more details on Avogadro's staff, including their education and years of experience.
Avogadro engineers have a thorough understanding of the process and testing variables that effect final test data. Hence, we are able to make critical observations both on-site and with the emission data after the report is documented. Additional services include the following: real-time optimization of control equipment, troubleshooting, recommendations for decreasing emissions, data and regulatory interpretations and agency contact, professional engineering and/or industrial hygiene certification.
